I get the error message
"Could not connect to the database. Please try again.". What should I
do now?
There are various
possibilities for getting this error message. In fact, Bit Faster will
even tell you the actual error the system returned in the message box.
In most cases you might be able to make out the problem yourself and
fix it. If not, here are some of the reasons why this error might crop
up:
1. The ODBC drivers on your
system might be outdated or have got corrupted. Install any version of
MDAC drivers (2.5 or above). You can
download MDAC drivers from the Microsoft website.
2. The Operating System is
other than the following:
Bit Faster has also been
tested on Windows 98 SE and works fine. Although Bit Faster works on
Vista, users of certain editions may encounter problems.
3. The "Data" directory under
the installation folder (by default, Bit Faster is installed under
C:\Program Files\Bit Faster SBE 3.0) is Read only. Make sure the folder has
both Read and Write permissions set.
I get the error message
"Login failed. Please try again". What should I do now?
Your authentication
credentials are wrong. Either the Login Name or the Password you have
entered is incorrect. Bit Faster is not case sensitive, but make sure
you have not entered any additional space characters.
You can also reset the
password to "admin" if you use the Forgot Password option in the Login
window.
